Greenhill

The proposed scheme at Greenhill, Brampton is a residential development providing 61 new affordable homes consisting of 2, 3, and 4 bed homes of bungalows and 2 storey units. The development includes on site estate roads, private gardens, off street parking, private driveways, on site foul water pumping station and extensive landscaping in the southern part of the site around the main swale SUDS features.

Beckwith & Hanlon were appointed to provide Civil and Structural Engineering design services at pre and post planning stages associated with the infrastructure, levels and foundation designs for the proposed affordable residential scheme. The site has a number challenging elements requiring value Engineering and innovative design approach including the proposed levels, earthworks and retainment design to overcome the existing steep topography of the site, proposed surface water and attenuation design based on infiltration systems into the underlying sand strata with a network of swales for conveying the flows and providing water quality, along with research and development to determine requirements and mitigation to deal with Nutrient Neutrality requirements.

Beckwith & Hanlon is confident that the overall Engineering design input and expertise provided will be sufficient supporting information to secure a Hybrid Planning Permission as well as delivering a commercially viable residential development providing much needed affordable homes to the Carlisle Rural East area.
