
Proposed commercial development on Bishop Auckland Retail Park consisting of a small Eatery unit, 3No. Trade units including a fit out for Toolstation, onsite circulation road and parking bay areas.
Beckwith & Hanlon were appointed to provide Civil Engineering design services associated with the private drainage system, onsite circulation road, proposed levels, hardstanding areas and parking bays. The proposed scheme was 100% hardstanding with no open landscape space to incorporate SUDS features for attenuation and water quality purposes. Therefore, to meet the requirements of the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) permeable paving and construction were introduced in the parking bay areas in which to provide infiltration systems for water cleansing purposes prior to discharging into the main surface water drainage system within Stadium Way.
The innovative design along with detailed consultation and liaison with the LLFA resulted in the proposed scheme receiving full planning permission.
